Domaine Tribut: Chablis's Best ROI

Laurent Tribut's daughters, Solange and Adeline, partnered with their brother, Gabriel, are firmly at the helm of this world-class 7-hectare domaine, following Laurent Tribut's official retirement. Until 2013, the harvest was carried out jointly with the team of Laurent's brother-in-law, Vincent Dauvissat, in whose cellars Tribut's wines were once produced before the domaine built their own facilities in 1992.

Moderate yields, hand-harvesting at full maturity, fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks and enameled steel, followed by élevage on the lees in used oak, form the cornerstones of the estate's approach. This methodology will be familiar to followers of Vincent Dauvissat's wines, and it remains unchanged under the new generation.

"A more elegant and slightly cooler nose features notes of essence of pear, mineral reduction and the hallmark citrus nuances. Here too the medium-bodied flavors possess a gorgeous texture along with better energy and more evident minerality on the youthfully austere and beautifully persistent finale. This is lovely and a wine that should age accordingly. Worth checking out."

"The 2022 Chablis Montmains 1er Cru has a pure and effective bouquet with shimmering yellow plum and peach skin scents, a hint of coconut and sea spray emerging with time. Superb delineation. The palate is very well-balanced with a honeyed texture, lower in acidity compared to the 2021, but certainly the most precise of Tribut's 2022s on the finish. Excellent."
