Amélie Berthaut-Gerbet has been in the spotlight since receiving an impressive array of vineyards from both her mother and father who owned and managed separate family domaines. The newly-baptized Domaine Berthaut-Gerbet is comprised of 16 hectares located in the Hautes-Côtes de Nuits, in the villages of Fixin, Gevrey-Chambertin, Chambolle-Musigny, Vougeot, and Vosne-Romanée.

Today, I'm pleased to offer a fresh refill on her Vosne, Gevrey, and Chambolle 1er crus... with a few magnums, too!

2023 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Plantes
WA 90-92
Note: .3ha parcel planted in 1987 in clay/limestone soil
"Delicate and perfumed, the 2021 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Plantes exhibits pretty aromas of peonies, red berries, plums and orange zest. Medium-bodied, ample and satiny, with a seamless, melting profile and an expansive, fragrant finish, it will be hard to resist on release." -William Kelley

2023 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Lavaux Saint-Jacques
VN 92-94, BH 91-93 (Outstanding), WA 91-93
Note: from a .13 ha parcel; vinified with 50% whole clusters and without seeing any new oak in 2023
"An overtly floral-inflected nose is pretty if reluctant though aggressive swirling eventually reveals dark berry aromas with background hints of the sauvage and forest floor. There is better density and power to the firm and serious medium-bodied flavors that also flash evident minerality on the moderately austere and built-to-age finale that makes clear that at least some patience is very much in order."

"The 2023 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Suchots has turned out beautifully, delivering notes of blood orange, rose petals and sweet red berries, followed by a medium to full-bodied, supple and ultra-refined palate, concluding with a saline finish. The domaine's Vosne and Flagey terroirs are really beginning to show their potential."

2023 Vosne-Romanee 1er Cru Les Petits Monts

Note: from a .50 ha parcel that must be worked by horse
"The 2023 Vosne-Romanée Les Petits-Monts 1er Cru was due for racking and so understandably it is a little sultry on the nose, more introspective than it will be after bottling. The palate is medium-bodied with ripe and succulent dark berry fruit laced with graphite and orange rind. More structured than Les Suchots with more weight toward the finish, this is an sophisticated Petit-Monts that will give 15 to 20 years' drinking pleasure."
