We highly recommend these wines and their great price points.

BURGUNDY VALUE ALERT!!

The wines... the favorites of what we have tasted.

2023 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Charmes

VN 93-95, BH 91-93 Outstanding, JM 92-94
"A restrained, elegant and airy nose is beautifully layered with its combination of red and dark raspberry, spice, lavender and violet. There is a really lovely texture to the tension-filled and well-detailed medium-bodied flavors that exude a subtle minerality on the balanced and beautifully long finish that would also benefit from developing more depth. Lovely and very Charmes in style."
- Allen Meadows, Jan. 10th, 2025

2023 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Fuees
VN 91-93, BH 90-92, JM 92-94
"30% whole bunches. A deeper purple colour, with impressive depth of fruit on the nose. Super concentrated dark fruit, generous yet very pure. A clean limestone crunch. More marl than limestone with good water supply from springs. More like Cras in soil profile. Gilbert notes that Les Fuées used to need picking late but now comes early in the schedule. Drink from 2030-2037."
- Jasper Morris, tasted Dec 2024

2023 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Gruenchers

VN 92-94, BH 90-93 Outstanding, JM 92-94
"The 2023 Chambolle-Musigny Les Gruenchers ler Cru also showed a little reduction on the nose. The palate is quite elegant and well-defined, with vivacious redcurrant, wild strawberry and blue fruit scents developing in the glass. It has lovely weight on the finish and there is a lilting quality to this Chambolle-Musigny, yet it will deserve four to five years in bottle." - Neal Martin, November 2024

2023 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Plantes

VN 92-94, BH 89-92, JM 91-93
"The 2023 Chambolle-Musigny Les Plantes ler Cru contains 50% whole bunch, a little more than other Premier Crus. It has a more classically styled bouquet with the stems shaping the aromatics at the moment. There are white pepper and tertiary scents, with a touch of autumn leaves on the nose. The palate is medium-bodied with a ripe blood orange-tinged entry and modest depth. It's grainy in texture, with just a touch of reduction toward the finish. There's good sustain on the aftertaste-very fine."  - Neal Martin, November 2024

2023 Vosne-Romanee aux Jachees

VN 90-92, BH 89-91 Outstanding, JM 91-93
"30% stems, may explain the slightly lighter colour. Slightly more floral, plus some alpine strawberries, this has a particularly refined texture and excellent persistence without exhibiting more natural power than the village blend. Certainly an extra refinement though. Drink from 2029-2035." - Jasper Morris, tasted Dec 2024

2023 Chambolle-Musigny Derriere Le Four

VN 90-92, BH 89-91 Outstanding
"A more floral-suffused nose features notes of violet, rose petal, anise and the essence of ripe red and dark cherry. Once again the middle weight flavors possess a beguiling texture that is suave and generous while exuding a subtle minerality on the long and balanced finale. This lovely effort is less refined than the old vines Chambolle cuvée but more complex as well as slightly firmer." - Allen Meadows, Jan. 10th, 2025

2023 Chambolle-Musigny Vieilles Vignes
VN 89-91, BH 89-91 Outstanding, JM 89-92
"The ripe essence of black cherry, anise and violet introduce even finer, though not denser, medium-bodied flavors that flash evident minerality on the balanced, focused and precise finale. This too should drink well young but repay mid-term keeping."
- Allen Meadows, Jan. 10th, 2025

2023 Morey-Saint-Denis En La Rue de Vergy

VN 89-91, BH 89-92 Outstanding, JM 90-92
"The 2023 Morey-Saint-Denis En La Rue de Vergy, which includes 20% whole bunch, has a more extrovert bouquet with kirsch and blood orange scents infusing the red fruit notes. The palate is ripe and sweet on the entry, with hints of candied orange peel, red cherries and a touch of spice. It has fine length, it's just missing a bit of nobility like Felettig's other cuvées. Drink it over six to ten years."
- Neal Martin, November 2024

2023 Gevrey-Chambertin La Justice

BH 89-91 Outstanding, JM 90-93
"He likes the vintage in Gevrey because there was enough rain. 20203 provided the best grapes he can remember since starting in 1994 in these vines. Gilbert has made 9 barrels instead of just 400 litres in 2024. A bright ruby purple. The fruit hovers between raspberry and strawberry – normally more of the latter here – and is beautifully juicy on the palate. An elegant finish with good acidity, refined raspberries showing through. Drink from 2027-2033." - Jasper Morris, tasted Dec 2024
