Back in 1990, Volker Raumland started Sekthaus Raumland, a German producer purely focused on producing the best sparkling wines in the country! Helped by his daughters Marie-Luise and Katharina, they are REALLY catching the attention of the press and are 100% organic certified.  And based on their playful use of Sekt in their marketing, I bet they are a load of fun!

We couldn't resist his 2014 Chardonnay last year and several of you purchased some bottles...and many of you came back asking for more! Well today we have a few choice selections of his 2015 release! Just like before, these bottlings have HUGE scores and glowing praise as you'll see below. Any fans of sparkling wine need to add these to your collection today.

"Raumland's undisputed position as the number one in German sparkling wine is made clear by the current collection. No sparkling wine leaves the house with a maturation period of less than 36 months on the yeast. However, most cuvees mature sur lattes for much longer, up to 12 years, before they are disgorged and sold at prices that are more of a gift for true sparkling wine lovers, especially when compared to French sparkling wines, particularly those from the Champagne region."

2015 Sekthaus Raumland Kirchenstuck Pinot Reserve Brut Nature

WA 96 - "The 2015 Pinot Kirchenstück Brut Nature is a pure Pinot Noir from the top site in Hohen-Sülzen. Vinified in stainless steel and a single tonneau, the wine is deep, intense and pure as well as chalky on the nose. Full-bodied, pure and fresh on the palate, with brioche and bread aromas after 95 months on the bottle lees, this is a clear, fresh and finessed, stimulating, saline and finely grippy Pinot Noir with lightness, brightness and drive." - Wine Advocate, Oct 2024

2015 Sekthaus Raumland XV Triumvirat Grande Cuvee Brut (Nature)

WA 97 - "The 2015 Triumvirat XV Grande Cuvée Brut is an assemblage of 61% Pinot Noir, 20% Meunier and 19% Chardonnay from the Bürgel and was aged in barriques (58%) and stainless steel (42%). Disgorged in February 2024, this is a deep, pure and complex, intense and iodine-scented sparkling wine of great class. Full-bodied, fresh and nervous on the palate, with bread and nutty flavors, this is a pure, fresh and complex, still young Triumvirat with a long, dense and stimulating saline finish. It was disgorged as Brut Nature yet labeled as Brut." - Wine Advocate, Oct 2024
