Domaine Rémi Jobard, Meursault

Rémi Jobard has been at the helm of his family's estate for 30 years. Son of Charles Jobard and nephew to Francois Jobard, Rémi was a student of two legendary vignerons, whom left him with an enviable assortment of vineyards when he took control of the Domaine in 1996. Upon the changing of the guard, Rémi surpassed his predecessors' refrain of any herbicides or pesticides by converting to organics and eventually achieving certification in 2011. Couple his viticultural practices with a simple hands-off approach in the cellar, and the result are wines with impeccable terroir clarity.

"Recently replanted from red, so young vines. Mid yellow in colour, with a density to the nose which was missing in the Santenay. Succulent ripe citrus, some orange blossom, but not too lush. Very impressive for young vines, though of course less persistence than where the vines are older, so drink early. Tasted Feb 2024." -- Jasper Morris
