Impressive TASTING... Burgundy Excellence in JURA from Pierre Vincent Girardin (Dec. ETA)

Round Two of these fantastic wines that punch well-above their prices from the uncompromising talents of Burgundy vigneron, Pierre Vincent Girardin.    This great cache of wines is arriving in December!  If you missed the first offering and favor PVG's wines, we HIGHLY recommend these stellar wines.

Here is an exciting offer of Pierre's venture towards the Jura and Jurassic terroirs that have been well-suited for Chardonnay and Savagnin.

As these might be new labels for your eyes, very little of these wines have landed state-side.
Prices here are extremely favorable and this vintage would be a great place to start. The 2023 vintage assessment of the Jura wines has been more favorable to the white wines with their lovely freshness, expressive terroir-minerality and their bright acidities.

Les Saugettes
Chardonnay on west-facing soils rich in limestone and marl scree with mid-slope aspects.
The vines were planted in 1970 under massal selection.
Native yeast ferments with 12 months in 456-litre oak barrels, 8 months in stainless steel vats (30% new barrels)

La Petite Montagne
Chardonnay - 0.6ha parcel at 450m altitude in the village of Vincelles
A Puligny-like terror, with a bit more clay with the limestone
80+ year old vines
40% of vines are ungrafted
Native yeast ferments, and aged in 600L barrels (50% new)
Unfined and unfiltered

Le Noyer
Chardonnay and Savagnin - 0.8ha clos at 470m altitude in the village of Rotalier
A Meursault-like terror, with lots of limestone with the clay
60+ year old vines
Native yeast ferments, and aged in 600L barrels (50% new)
Unfined and unfiltered

Les Abeilles
Chardonnay on south-facing poor soil composed of Jurassic limestone (Bajocian) from low-yielding vines, resulting in concentration and richness.
Vines planted in 1959 under millerandage massal selection.
Native yeast ferments, and aged in 456L barrels (100% new) for 12 months and 8 months in stainless steel vats
Unfined and unfiltered
