Henri Germain - Aligoté & Bourgogne Blanc - Village Cru Level

It’s hard not to make great wines when sourcing from old vines in Meursault and Chassagne, even in the case of Bourgognes. Jean-François Germain, now joined by his dynamic daughter Lucie, is producing Aligoté from a 50-year-old parcel in Meursault, along with their Bourgogne Blanc originating from vines in Meursault and Chassagne, a blend of four parcels and one parcel, respectively. A 16-month élevage, followed by closure under Diam corks, means that these wines have never been better.

2024 Domaine Henri Germain Bourgogne Aligoté
BH87-89 (Outstanding Top Value), V88-90, WA87-89
"A super-fresh, bright and citrus-suffused nose speaks mostly of spice and Granny Smith apple nuances. There is excellent volume to the delicious and very punchy middle weight flavor that deliver impressive length on the clean, dry and balanced finale. This is a first-rate example of the genre."

2024 Domaine Henri Germain Bourgogne Côte d'Or Blanc
BH87-89 (Outstanding Top Value), V89-91, WA87-89
"A discreet if still easily perceptible application of wood sets off a nose of white orchard fruit and floral nuances where the citrus influence is distinctly less prominent. On the palate there is equally good volume to the textured and vibrant medium weight flavors that deliver excellent depth and persistence on the balanced and crunchy finale. This is also excellent for the genre and warmly recommended."

"Easily Village Cru Level."
