Domaine Georges Mugneret-Gibourg, Vosne-Roamnée

Established in 1930, Domaine Georges Mugneret-Gibourg has reigned supreme in producing the epitome of cult-level Pinot Noir in Côte de Nuits.

We have the family's second generation vigneron, Georges Mugneret, to thank as he enlarged and enhanced the domaine during his tenure, acquring: Clos Vougeot Grand Cru in 1953, Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er cru in 1971, Ruchottes-Chambertin Grand Cru in 1977, Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru « Les Vignes Rondes » in 1982 and Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru "Les Feusselottes" in 1985.

2020 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Aux Vignes Rondes

"A lovely density of ripe, black plum fruit, with notes of smoke and earth. The texture is silky and yet mouth-filling, almost sweet, yet there is enough tannin and structure to age this for a decade at least. From a parcel of 0.26ha at the bottom of Chaignots planted in a bit heavier soil. The grapes were picked at 13.3% potential alcohol and fermented with a gentle extraction prior to ageing in cask (30% new). Drinking Window: 2025-2050." -Charles Curtis MW, Decanter
