The 2022 vintage in Burgundy delivered wines with remarkable balance - generous fruit, polished tannins, and the structure to age beautifully without sacrificing early appeal. Chevillon excelled in the vintage, producing classic, terroir-driven Nuits-Saint-Georges with excellent depth and energy.

Note: mostly from La Charmotte and Au Chouillet, with a tiny bit from Aux Saints Jacques, Les Charmois, Les Maladières, Les Chaliots and Les Brûlées plus a few others too small to mention.
"An exuberantly fresh and even perfumed nose features notes of black pinot fruit, earth and a hint of anise. There is excellent verve and definition to the utterly delicious if not especially dense middleweight flavors that are shaped by relatively fine-grained tannins on the bitter pit fruit-inflected finish. This is an excellent Nuits villages and recommended.

2022 Robert Chevillon Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Roncieres

Note: from a 1 hectare parcel of 45+ year old vines
"The 2022 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Roncières 1er Cru, hit by hail in June, has a bright bouquet with black cherries, iodine and light violet aromas, taking a little time to cohere in the glass. The palate is very fine with silky smooth tannins, impressive depth, a caressing texture and more mineralité on the finish compared to the Bousselottes. Obviously, the hail had no impact here! "A markedly spicier and slightly cooler nose features notes of red currant, earth and a pretty floral top note. The racy, delicious and well-detailed medium weight flavors exude a subtle minerality on the lingering finish that also displays a hint of bitter pit fruit character. 2022 Robert Chevillon Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Bousselottes 1er Cru

"The 2022 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Bousselottes 1er Cru has a sensual and generous bouquet: more red fruit character than the Chaignots, redcurrant and macerated small red cherries with touches of pressed violet. Again, the palate is composed on the entry, quite opulent and sensual. It retains control and focus towards the finish with a touch of white pepper and bay leaf. Lovely." -- Neal Martin, Vinous

"This is aromatically similar to the Perrières with perhaps just a touch more sauvage character in evidence. The powerful if slightly less concentrated flavors pack first-rate punch on the moderately austere, vibrant and compact finale that is also built to repay longer-term cellaring, indeed 20 years would not be a surprise."

"Here too there is just enough wood present to point out on the more sauvage-inflected aromas of earth and violet along with a similar touch of poached plum. The velvety and palate coating medium-bodied flavors possess both good power and an almost pungent minerality on the youthfully austere, compact and quite serious finish that is built for the long haul. This is also excellent but not well that it's not going to drink especially well young." -Allen Meadow
